Outlook Express 6 Instructions
!!! Important - Please read before continuing !!!
Below are the instructions for setting up email services through Worldwide Dialup on Outlook Express 6. Because we only set up email accounts on an as needed basis, if you have not already requested an email account with your roaming service, please do so before continuing. This can be done by calling support or by clicking on the Add Email link next to your username on the Manage Account page of our Account Administration. If you need our email services just to send email you will need to request an email account as our mail services need to authenticate you prior to allowing you to send mail.

To set up Worldwide Dialup email services on Outlook Express please do the following:

1. Open Outlook Express
2. Click on Tools and then Accounts...
3. A new window will open which will show you your current email profiles. Click on Add and then click on Mail... This will start the email setup Wizard. For this example we are going to set up the email address of newaccount@worldwidedialup.net. When setting up your email please mail the appropriate substitutions.

4. The wizard will now prompt you for your name. Enter your name and click on Next.

7. Next, you will be prompted for your account name. Your account name is your roaming username (everything before @worldwidedialup.net in your email address). Please enter this in the Account name field. If you wish, you can enter your password and select Remember password so that you don't have to type it every time you access your mail. After filling this out please click Next.

Internet Accounts Window

8. Assuming you have entered all of the previous information correctly, the wizard will now tell you that you have successfully set up your email account. This is not entirely correct as there is one additional setting that has to be modified for your email to work with Worldwide Dialup. Please click Finish and continue reading below.

Internet Accounts Window

9. After you have clicked finish you will be taken back to the Internet Accounts window. Select the profile that you just created (If you followed the above directions it should be named mail.worldwidedialup.net) and click on Properties.

Internet Accounts Window

10. You should now be faced with the mail.worldwidedialup.net Properties window. In this window you can add a "reply to" address if you would like recipients of email form your Worldwide Dialup account to reply to a different address. Regardless of whether you set the Reply Address or not, please click on the Servers tab at the top.

Internet Accounts Window

11. Once you are on the Servers Page, please check the checkbox that says My server requires authentication and then click on OK.

Internet Accounts Window

12. You have now finished setting up your Worldwide Dialup email account. If you have more than one email account, you now have the option of selecting which account you want to be your default account for sending email. The default account will have the word default listed next to it in the type field. To change your default email account, highlight the account that you would like to be your default and click on the Set as Default button.

Internet Accounts Window

13. Once you have set your default account you are all set. Just click on Close and you are finished configuring your mail. If you need to send an email, but don't want to use your current default mail account to send messages, you have two options available. The first option is to change your default by clicking on Tools and Accounts... and changing your default account. The other option is to select the mail server you send from when you write your email. When composing a new email if you have multiple accounts you should now have an option box (From:) appear above the To: and Subject: fields. Just select a different mail server from the drop down box and that email will be sent to that server for processing.

Good Luck and Happy emailing!
